Zodiac Birthday Reminder Privacy Policy

  Birthday Reminder ("the App") is developed by Veysel Bozkurt. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use,  

  and protect your information.                                                                                  

  1. Information We Collect

  Information You Provide:

  - Account info: display name, first name, last name, email (optional), phone (optional)

  - Birthday data: names, birth dates, relationship categories, gender

  - Photos: profile images for yourself and contacts

  - Memories: notes, gift descriptions, ratings, celebration photos

  - Preferences: likes/dislikes for gift suggestions, custom birthday card messages

  Information from Contacts (with your permission):

  - Contact names, birth dates, photos, phone numbers, email addresses

  - Imported only when you explicitly initiate it — no background syncing

  Automatically Collected:

  - Push notification device token (for delivering reminders)

  - Anonymous Firebase user ID (generated on first launch)

  - Device language/region (for localization)

  - App usage flags (launch count, onboarding status — stored locally only)

  What We Do NOT Collect:

  - Location data

  - Browsing history

  - Health or fitness data

  - Financial information (payments handled entirely by Apple)

  - Advertising identifiers

  - Microphone or camera recordings

  2. How We Use Your Information

  - Birthday reminders via push notifications: birth dates, names, device token, notification preferences

  - Sky visualization and star display: birthday data, categories, photos

  - Birthday Wrapped stories and statistics: aggregated birthday data (zodiac, category, time analysis)

  - Gift suggestions: gender, relationship, likes/dislikes

  - Birthday card creation: contact names, custom messages

  - Data sync across sessions: all user-provided data via Firebase

  - Premium purchase processing: purchase status only (no financial details)

  - Aggregated improvement: anonymized country-level user counts

  3. Data Storage and Security

  Cloud: Firebase Realtime Database and Firebase Storage (Google infrastructure), all via HTTPS

  Local: Preferences in UserDefaults, sensitive tokens in iOS Keychain (hardware-encrypted)

  Security:

  - All network communications use HTTPS encryption (TLS)

  - Authentication tokens stored in iOS Keychain (hardware-encrypted storage)

  - Firebase App Check enabled to prevent unauthorized API access

  - No arbitrary network loads permitted (App Transport Security enforced)

  4. Third-Party Services

  - Firebase Authentication (Google): user identity management, anonymous user ID

  - Firebase Realtime Database (Google): cloud data storage, birthday data and profile

  - Firebase Storage (Google): photo storage, profile and memory photos

  - Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google): push notifications, device token

  - RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.): in-app purchase management, purchase transactions and subscription status

  5. Push Notifications

  Reminders are sent via Apple Push Notification Service through Firebase Cloud Messaging:

  - 1 week before (10:00 AM)

  - 1 day before (6:00 PM)

  - On the birthday (9:00 AM)

  Fully customizable and can be disabled in-app or via device Settings.

  6. Data Sharing

  We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Data is shared only with:

  - Service Providers: Firebase (Google) and RevenueCat — solely for app operation

  - Legal Requirements: if required by law or governmental request

  - Safety: to protect the rights or safety of users

  We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or behavioral targeting.

  7. Data Retention

  - Account/Birthday Data: retained until you delete entries or request account deletion

  - Photos: retained until you delete them or your account

  - Local Preferences: removed when you uninstall the App

  - Aggregated Statistics: anonymized country-level counts retained indefinitely

  8. Your Rights

  - Access: view all your data directly in the App

  - Edit: modify any birthday, profile, or memory data anytime

  - Delete: delete individual entries or request full account deletion via email

  - Revoke Contacts: Settings > Privacy > Contacts

  - Disable Notifications: in-app or device Settings

  - Data Export: contact us to request

  9. Children's Privacy

  Not directed at children under 13. If we learn we collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it

  immediately.

  10. International Transfers

  Data is stored on Firebase servers which may be located outside your country, including the United States. By

  using the App, you consent to this transfer.

  11. Changes

  We may update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated through the App or by updating the effective

  date.
